W210 300E Turbodiesel
I own a 1997 E300 turbodiesel which has some 16" elegance alloys which look pretty tired. I bought some 16" Rucha alloys from a W211 model thinking I could fit them easily. Apparently not..... I just went to Mercedes at Park Royal to pick up some wheel bolts and they tell me that the bolts are a thicker diameter and will not fit so I should get rid of the W 211 alloys. Does anyone out there know a way to fit them, and anywhere in or near London that I could go to to get some help on this. The Rucha's are great and seems a real shame that I cannot use them. Any thoughts appreciated !

Hi Anthony,

Try Chris at Murray Systems , he's a member on here , ID is MurraySystems drop him a PM ...

Alternatively his website is www.alloywheelsdirect.net

If you do a member search , you will find a whole host of ways to contact him ...

Good luck

The wheels will fit the W210 and a member on here (agriff) has successfully fitted them on to a W210 and I saw them at a GTG. MB will say that they will not fit but they can with a little bit of modification.

Alloy Wheels Direct

Hi, thanks a lot for your help. I just spoke with the guys at Alloy Wheels Direct and they have sorted the problem immediately. They custom manufacture their own bolts in Germany which are designed to fit the 14 mm diameter bolt fittings of the W 211 wheels into the 12 mm diameter fitttings of the W 210. I should get my new bolts tomorrow and fitted on Monday ! Check out their website alloywheelsdirect.net - fantastic selection:bannana:

Glad you got it sorted Anthony, please post a picture of it when they are fitted and keep checking back to the club ....

I reckon you'll get the modding bug soon enough !!

Yeah nice choice of wheels, they are hot. Always wanted to put a set on my w202 but I have ordered a different set now :), they are taking their time too!

Putting wheels on that never came with that model of car is still a mod in my book .....

Those W211 Rucha alloys look great on a W210 :bannana: I hope they fit yours with the new bolts Anthony. Please post a picture when they are fitted.

The "mod" part referred to having to mod the wheels to get them to fit. The only mod required is the bolts, everything else is the same, even the offset is only 1mm different.

For a different look for my late model W210 I went for these

They are 7x16 Front and 8x16 Rear Cygnus alloys from a 209 model CLK. I think they look good but eventually I'll be looking to upgrade to 17" or 18" genuine MB alloys. AMG or Brabus would be nice too when the funds become available :)

Hi guys, finally got the wheels onto the car and here are a few pictures. Car is a bit dirty but the new wheels make a great improvement. Thanks for all your help

Got quite a shock when the old wheels and tyres were removed. The inside of the both front tyres was totally worn down through the rubber to the cord, machanic reckoned I was lucky not to get a blowout on the motorway. One of the tyres was a Michelin Primacy which I bought about 9 months ago and I have done about 8,000 miles since then, no more.

Checked the alignment and one wheel was -3 and one was -7...... I had no idea that the alignment could get knocked out so far. Does anyone know an easy way to check alignment, the mechanic told me to check the tyre wear which is I will have to start doing every couple of months.
