now the fun starts
all the nuts and bolts you need to remove are captive pointing towards the front of the car you have four bolts in the wheel well so you have to remove the steel plate and wheel well trim 5 screws and 8 plastic trim clips and pull back the trim
if you remove the heat sheilds from the sides and drop the exhaust down but only off the mounting point you can get a long ext bar and socket over the rear exhaust box ( id allready take off the rear splash cover)

Ironic isn't it, we did all this work to fit the tow bars and when finished you can't see them....

Still a bit more protection if ever the car gets hit from behind with that additional metal in there.

Yes done all that work and car't see it but you know is the ready for when you need it

w211 saloon e320 oem tow bar

Hello Has anyone any fitting instructions for an OEM MERC Tow bar and OEM Electrics kit for a Jan 2008 W211 E320 SALOON

Sorry no, mine was specific to the tow bar I bought. As yours is original I would assume it fits into the distribution panel in the boot. They would make it as simple as possible for a dealer to fit but it might need setting up to recognise it has been fitted through the STAR system.

Hi.I have Mercedes e280 cdi sport 2006.I would like to fit detachable westfalia tow bar in to my car.Is the bumper in sport versin larger than normal one?Do I need to cut bumper in sport version.I know there is no cut in standard bumper.
