W211 sat nav location

Daft question where is the dvd nav unit? I've searched the forum and it says in the boot on the left hand side but beyond some electric connectors there is nothing there. I've looked in the boot floor compartments and under the rear seat and glove compartment but found nothing. Car is 2009 e280 sport and the sat nav works so it must be somewhere. The 6 CD changer built into the command system is also empty.

Didn't some models have an upgraded head unit where the Satnav maps are on a hard drive in the head unit?

Mine is the same year and model but built 2008. My head unit doesnt have the sd in it. I think the ones with hard drives in the head unit also came with bluetooth

From build date 6/2008 onwards the W211 comes with an NTG2.5 head unit. If it is a COMAND head unit, it would have HDD navigation. It is important to know the build date, not the date of registration.

The older NTG1 Comand navi unit has a visible DVD slot at the trunk.

Mine is NTG1 definately. I am guessing OP is 2.5 and I think the update will be totally different to mine. Hope you get sorted, I think a couple of memories own commandonline.co.uk and will definitely be able to help you

I’m coming to the conclusion that it is a 2.5, I also have Bluetooth. Does this mean there is a sd card somewhere that needs changing for a map update or is it a dealer only upgrade?
