Pulling off the drive today and up popped the STOP! sign in Red, reduced braking and engine power, clearly the brakes are in emergency mode. Mate read the codes,
C22B4 Hydraulic Fault: A7/3Y8 (RIGHT FRONT INLET Control valve)

C2534 Hydraulic Fault A7/3Y2 (RIGHT FRONT SEPARATING VALVE)

BOSCH SERIAL NUMBER 0 265 960 025

SBC SERIAL NUMBER SBC A 005 431 72 12 01

Can anyone shed light on the above?
It has recently had new Reluctor abs rear rings, front abs sensor, it has had a software update years ago at MB for the SBC. The car is a 2004 with exactly 62,100 on the clock, full history. I have also contacted my dealer to see how forth coming they are regarding the SBC pump replacement....currently pleasant by email....however they want to read the above codes themselves!??? but im not driving 24 miles with crap brakes!
Any help & advice appreciated!

Do you have Mobilo or another form of breakdown and recovery policy? If so get it towed to the dealer but as far as I am aware MB have stopped all goodwill replacements etc for SBC units.

Hi, thanks for the reply. i can get the car to the dealer ok ta. MB service manager is using the above info to contact MB Germany and seeing what he can do for me...just hate this car! every common fault this cars had it, 62k full MB history, car is like new....probably because its spent most of its life in the workshop! never again!!

Good luck!

Let us know how you get on.

Just an update for those interested, the car is going to a garage with STAR this week to read the codes again, the above codes were read by Snap On...and should this confirm the SBC is knackered off to main agent for a new pump.
I have been quoted (Giffnock MB) £1065 plus Vat for the job.....£20 cheaper than two Merc Specialist !!
I will update when this sorry episode is completed.

***Conclusion****
Thought l'd update this post with a happy ending! All of the above errors and faults were caused by a corroded brake pipe, location drivers side wheel arch, new brake pipe fitted, system bled, errors cleared, driving perfect total cost £40!
Can't tell you how pleased l am having thought l was facing a huge bill.

Great result!
Time to put a little away each week in case the SBC really does fail.

Lol...i'm going to polish & put it in the garage and sell it! never to be driven again! and then buy a newer one without the SBC. Lost confidence in this car i'm afraid.
