All, the speed needle on my E270 has always stopped at 25mph and on some occasions not moved at all!

All that is now sorted thanks to a bit of super glue!

Not sure whether you know, but the speed needle is actually controlled by gears behind the elegant housing and in my case, the large gear which goes around the speedo instrument cluster had a crack and a hairline fracture which caused it to get stuck on a smaller gear as it turned.

Thanks to super glue, I was able to bridge the hairline fracture and fill the gap where the crack was so now my speedo needle moves as expected, no sticking and I can now use the digital display for something more interesting than the speed readout!

Very cheap fix and quick to do (less than 30minutes).

im having the same problem, could you tell me how to take out the instrument cluster,it would be much appreciated
