W211 Wing mirrors maintenance

Sorry to trouble you guys. I done it. It fairly simple, push it forward and you will see a spindle, drop some oil on it.
When I folded the wing mirror, gosh what should I do, fairly complicated mechanism with loads of plastic covering. Should I dismantle the whole wing mirror just to oil it for maintenance? Surely this can't be right. Done it without damaging it.

Spray it with teflon or silicon spray, but make a little enclosure with an old towel or something similar and try to keep the spray off the bodywork and certainly keep it off the windscreen.
