Hi folks

W212 2010 E250 CDI

Anyone help with how the left & right mouldings (A2126902882 & A2126902982) for the Panoramic Roof are removed?

Looks like there may be a clip at the front and it may just pop on but I don't want to start pulling things.

Can't see any securing clips or bolts listed in parts diagram in EPC.

The rubber seals on mine are perished and I want to get a closer look to see if it may be possible to get a specialist company to add new seals.

Couldn't wait, too eager. :D

It's held in with 5 clips at each side, I prised it up from the back to the front and it came off no problem.

Would be great to hear from anyone that has just replaced the seals?

They must be available from somewhere and would save a fortune compared to replacing the entire moulding ~£200 per side.

I tried all sorts of things to get the seals sorted but couldn't get anything that would look as good.

In the end I forked out the £180 for a new panel direct from MB.

is there anything we can do to prevent the seals from getting like that in the first place?

I'm using gummi pfledge stuff atm - is that good enough?

Exactly the same stuff I've just used on the car too, guess it's just a case of keeping an eye on them , maybe even some coconut oil on them would do.

I need to replace one of mine too, not rotten but split. Glued it with rubber glue, it's ok, but I see it every time I get in the car.

Mines a 2012 e class coupe but I guess the roof is the same. Is it simply just clipped on or do you have to undo any thing first?

Thanks

Hi,

Did anyone out ever get an answer as to how to remove the outer mouldings on the panoramic roof ?

I have the same problem with the seals on both side of my car.

Are they clipped or glued in place ?

Thanks.

They are just clipped in, use a plastic pry tool at one end to lift it up then you can pull it up, five clips along the length of it that holds the trim in.

OK, thanks. I will give it a try once it stops raining long enough for me to do it....!!!

However, I have the C207 - E Class Coupe and I was quoted £80+ VAT per side for the parts.....perhaps they have come down in price ????

Job done..

Things I would add to this procedure...

1. Start at the back of the car and work towards the front. As well as the 5 clips there is a horizontal tab at the front which holds the rail in place as well (on the C207 anyway)... if you start at the front you might break this off.

2. Once you have gained enough confidence to start prying the back up the job can be don in under 15 minutes for both sides....!!!

Thanks pmcgsmurf for your help..
