Probably this post will help you. Gives some AGM info related to your car.
These batteries are across a few w212s, and also SL350s.

Use partsouq.com plus your VIN to double check Merc part number fitted at build.

Part number fitted is A 000 982 21 08 which says 80ah 740aH which from a Google looks like an agm

As I was taking battery out I noticed oil on the turbo housing, not sure where that is coming from

Start another thread in the engine section with a couple of decent photos buddy, and we can have a look 👍

I went with the Varta F21, as the rumour is that Varta make the Merc batteries for the W212, and they tend to last 10 years if used regularly/looked after.
Whether they are exactly the same as those supplied to Merc vs sold aftermarket, who knows.
Merc batteries come with a 2 year warranty.

But, the Varta silver 'only' come with a 4 year warranty.
The Bosch S5 series come with a 5 year warranty.

The prices for these can be quite up and down over the months, and the various batteries seem to compete with each other on price, so sometimes one battery can be much cheaper one month, then swap round the next.
The screenshot I listed with prices was for Tayna batteries, who are usually competitive.

Hi mate, is it 80ah 800a 317L that you got for your W212? My battery is reading 12.1v on the dash when I checked this morning.

That's only about 50 percent charged then...needs a good charge if not replacement.

Got the battery checked and it needs replacing. It's the original 2015 battery so has lasted well. Local auto factor has an exide 82ah 800 A AGM on special. I assume this would work fine?

Before you get one from the local factor have a look here

Maybe it's too late for the OP's battery, but for future reference, I thought I would note, as I have been going through much the same process for my 2010 Mercedes W212 350 CDI Estate, that my car is also not 'Stop-Start' tech and still has its original 2010 Varta!

I am only now looking to replace it out of an abundance of caution, not because it has ever let me down. The car has done over 100k miles but has also invariably been garaged and I have routinely used the recommended CTEK MXS 5.0 charger to keep it in condition.

However, a picture paints a thousand words (see attached).

The battery on a UK RHD vehicle is under the bonnet (hood) on the passenger side, up against the bulkhead and beneath a ventilation cowling that undoes via three spring clips.

The battery manufacture date is "17 10", stamped on the negative terminal post (indicating 17 week of 2010).

The part number is Mercedes A 000 982 21 08. It is clearly of Varta OEM manufacture. and "VRLA". That is to say valve regulated lead acid aka 'Wet', presumably not AGM, because were it to be it would probably say so. You may also note the breather hose to the right.

Of course, much of the industry has switched to AGM and Start-Stop technology since but the proof of the pudding is that this battery has been just fine for over 14 years. Nevertheless, there seems to be a lot of unnecessary upselling to more costly batteries for a non Stop-Start vehicle.

In terms of dimensions, I have just measured my battery and it is 315L x 175W and 190mm high.

It is obviously 80Ah and 800A but Tanya suggestions for A 000 982 21 08 (Mercedes-Benz A 000 982 21 08 OEM Car Battery) points to 'Wet' batteries with 80 or 85Ah and also, curiously, ones uniformly 175mm in height, which is lower than the 190mm OEM I measure.

Assuming 5Ah is neither here nor there in bothering the ECU or anything else, I figure looking at the layout and cowling that 15mm is unlikely to be a bother either.

So, Varta F18 (F18 Varta Silver Dynamic Car Battery 85Ah (585200080) (110)) or Bosch S5010 (S5 010 Bosch Car Battery 12V 85Ah Type 110 S5010) look favourite with 5 year guarantees at under £110 incl VAT and delivery.

However, I am minded to go for the similar Varta Silver Dynamic F19 with the same slightly higher than OEM spec of 85Ah and 800 A but the 190mm height, for peace of mind: F19 Varta Silver Dynamic Car Battery 85Ah (585400080) (115).

I hope this helps someone, anyway.

Incidentally, my information is that there is no worry about needing to 'hot swap' batteries to maintain power to the e.g the radio (because Mercedes do not use a code but electonically check VIN for security).

However, after a battery change, opening and closing fully all of the electric windows and sunroof may be necessary to recalibrate them.

If anyone has any additional observations, corrections, or clarifications, that may save me and others a lot of frustrating web-browsing (Perplexity and other AIs can be a bit-forked tongued, unfortunately!) they are most welcome.

Looks like your battery is 15yrs old so owes you nothing. I changed my 10 yr old AGM battery & it starts first turn plus start,/stop works again

Also. I changed my battery & no programming required
