Mercedes E220 CDI Coupe - Palladium Silver
I've fixed an annoying rattle in the driver's door of my E Class Coupe. Here's how to remove the door card.

1. Remove 3 Torx screws. The first is behind a plastic insert behind the internal chrome door opening lever. Insert a screwdriver in the slot at the bottom of the plastic insert and lever up. The other 2 are behind a silver plastic finishing strip in the padded arm rest / door pull. Release the plastic by inserting a thin blade at the rear end of the strip and carefully releasing the press fit studs along its length.

2. Remove the chrome finishing piece on the trailing edge of the frameless Coupe door - 3 Torx screws.

3. Remove the triangular tweeter speaker assembly from the front edge of the window. The apex (top) of the triangle levers away from the window (1 clip) and the bottom edge is held by 2 lugs slotted into the padded top of the door card.

4. Pull the door card away from the door - it is secured by a series of plastic clips around the two sides and the bottom.

5. Lift the door card assembly off the retaining groove along the bottom of the window. Be careful not to strain the various cables running into the door at the leading edge.

The rattle was caused by the small bulb illuminating the door opening lever (on rear of door card). Easily fixed by some foam.
