My old Nokia 6303i worked seamlessly with my 2015 E300.
Now my employer has replaced the phone with Nokia 535 windows smart phone.
The new phone connects fine via bluetooth, and I can make and receive calls without problem.
BUT
the car will not download my contacts from the new phone, so it cannot see any of the names or numbers in the phone book.

Is there any way I can get the car to recognise the contacts?

Many thanks

Thanks for the quick response.
Apparently my phone is not on the compatibility list, but there again neither is my old phone and that worked fine.
It seems I am no further on, but it does seem odd that a new car will not recognise the contacts in a readily available phone. It is not as if it is some niche product.

According to the telephone user guide, I cannot store contacts on the sim.

You have to use your old phone to save contacts to your SIM card. The new one can read them from the SIM card even if it can't save them. :)

There must be an incorrect setting somewhere on your phone or your car, I've had no problems with contacts from a Windows phone (older Windows pones or most recent ones). You may need to manually download contacts, enable automatic downloading or something like that.

You need to import your contacts from the sim onto the phone (or vice versa can't remember which way it was) then you can import them into the car. I had the same problem. It's the windows phone.

Thanks all for the advice.
Although on the old phone the contacts were saved to the Sim card, the problem I have is that the SIM cards are different sizes, so I cannot simply transfer the card (including the contacts) to the new phone. I imported the contacts via bluetooth using the app on the new phone, but this simply stores all contacts on the phone. It seems the new phone is unable to write to the sim card.

I am still struggling with this.
Apparantly the car can see my contacts if I transfer then to the SD card. I tried doing this but the phone exported the contacts in some kind of excel format whci the car does not recognise.
Can anybody tell me what file format the contacts should be when copying them to SD card?

many thanks
M
