Anyone got these and found them to be inadequate/poor?

I know it's been hot the last few days but the seats on mine really don't seem to be at all efficient. The fan makes a whirring noise (noticeable with the engine off) but under normal driving they just don't seem to cool your back or **** down at all, even when on the maximum setting.

Just wondering if they're all like this, as my last couple of motors (non MB) have made a marked improvement in comfort. In fact, thinking about it, I had a 2003 E55 which was better than this one seems to be...

I think the previous posts on here I've seen about it suggest they are a bit crap.

More ventilation than cooling.

The effect is quite subtle, and certainly not the "forced cooling" effect that I experienced on a rented Cadillac in the USA a couple of years ago.

My previous W212 didn't have the cooling function on the seats and I can definitely tell that there's a worthwhile difference after my journey home from work, but if you're looking for a blast of cold air around the 'nads then you'll be disappointed.

They're fairly ineffective on my CL and it has 8 fans in each seat!

If I was speccing a new car, I wouldn't bother with them.

I suppose in a way I was expecting something like I had on my old XFR. A good cool blast of air.

At least I'm not physically sticking to them, but was expecting a bit of cool air on a warm day. I may mention it to the dealer when it goes in for a service, though the replies above indicate I may be wasting my breath...
