Hello all

Every time I switch off the car and get out, the air suspension at the rear makes a hissing noise and deflates to a lower setting. What is the point in this? And how does it re-inflate when you drive off again?

Thank you

It is self levelling, correcting the ride height to whatever the level should be.

There’s an air compressor and valve block that channel air to the two rear air springs, hence if needed it can run and open valves to feed more compressed air to raise the ride height as required when you next use it.

Having said that, although you may hear the system operating like this occasionally I wouldn’t say I notice mine hissing every time just the driver gets out. If you’re removing weight from the rear then obviously it will self-level though.
