Hi guys, owned my e350 cdi now for about a month and I love the car, however i'ts bringing up some weird faults sometimes when I first start the car that I was hoping you could help me with. First of all I sometimes get a message saying 'Without changing gear consult workshop' in red, it goes off within about 2 seconds and there is no decrease in performance or anything from the car. I have had this message come up about four times now. The other day I got in the car and started it up fine however the car would not enter D or R but no message on dash just wouldn't enter those gears after switching the car on and off twice it was fine and has been since then, however it was vibrating alot afterwards in traffic on idle. Then today when I started the car after gym it brought up the without changing gear message again but shortly followed by front left malfunction then straight after front right malfunction I believe this was in relation to the air bags as the light lit up on the dash but again after about three seconds it went away and the car drove absolutely perfect. All of these seemingly random messages only appear for a few seconds then disappear. I can only assume some sort of electrical fault somewhere maybe water is touching connections but where? Can anyone suggest what is wrong here maybe before I lose my mind.

I suggest you get it plugged into a star machine at a Mercedes specialist. We could literally diagnose your car till it’s doors fall off but, the diagnostic will be much more accurate than a bunch of middle aged farts.
Where are you based ?

Thanks I have done just that, this is my first MB but i'm starting to think there is just too many sensors etc

If you bought from a dealer take it back for them to fix it ? If you didn’t you want a good MB Independent specialist who knows these cars

With the airbag faults too, my mind jumps straight to the steering column module, but I’d do nothing without a decent Star diagnosis first

I notice you are from the NE @Ich, where about in the NE are you, so we can recommend some good indies to you. :thumb:

Hi guys, quick update. Car came back today and was told it had had a software update on the box. Hopefully sorted it
