Hey guys,

So after a few hours I've recently noticed that the rear gets lower and lower. The rear driver side tends to be a finger width lower than the opposite side. As soon as I start the car the air bags fill and whilst running there doesn't seem to be any drop/sag whatsoever. I still haven't changed my main battery which is original but I'm not sure if that would have any effect.

The attached images show how much they have dropped since 15:30 today.

Hmmm mine doesn't do that.
I think I'd get the car on Star where the pump, air springs and valves can be tested for any leaks.
Terry at Wayne Gates is your man.

Thanks for the fast reply. Damn I was hoping it was normal haha although it didn't seem normal. Do you know if that would fall under manufacturer warranty or is it considering wear and tear?

And this is how it sits this morning. Going to try go through warranty, if it’s not a warranty item I will try an Indy. Will give Wayne Gates a call on Monday, thanks AMGeed

if its one side it most likely the real air spring leaking, should be covered if you have warranty.

Car is booked in for Wednesday morning. They said they will investigate for an hour, if its not covered under warranty they will charge £172 for the investigative work carried out. Either way, I need the car on Saturday so unless the repair can be carried out before then I will need to collect the car. If it's not covered under warranty I will most likely take it to a specialist rather than paying Mercedes hourly rates.

Good decision. Shocking hourly rate but I suppose someone has to pay for the slick showroom and free coffee;)
In the meantime, have a read of the T&C's of your warranty and see what parts of the air suspension are covered.

The strut isn’t so I’m hoping the bag is.

I rang Wayne Gates, looking at around £1k with only £150 of that being labour!

used to be bilstein on the w211, so I would think the same.

I would say so, good price .

get someone to double check the part numbers for you though, as AMG and standard w212 ones will be different.

I would suggest doing the air lines as well (assume the AMG has airlines like the non-AMG cars?). The plastic seems to go quite brittle over time and can rub at various points and for the relatively small cost could be useful in eliminating any potential further leaks. When i replaced an air bag (couldn't locate the leak initially and everyone suggests its the airbag) i'm pretty sure it was actually the air line that was leaking. When it was removed you could see it was starting to go in places.

Yeah I think if I’m having the work done then yes will definitely have it changed. Still hoping it will be covered under warranty but nothing wrong with being prepared

Those are the correct Part#'s for a rear right spring for the AMG version.
All would fit and some parts have just been superseded in number.
The latest Part# is : A 212 320 44 25

Car dropped off this morning, £170ish for the first hour check. Lines and valves aren't covered. After the first hour charge goes up to £200ish an hour. I'm in the wrong job lol

The leak has been found and it’s an air line
