W212 Front suspension bumping noise

Hello. I have a 2014 W212 E220. When I go over a heavy bump (such as a speed ramp) with the front wheels, when the vehicle drops, there is a thumping sound from under the car. Particularly when hitting a bump with the front left wheel. As if something is loose and hitting the floor. I have checked the exhaust, and all is ok. The bushes are all good, the suspension is quiet otherwise. The engine (OM651) and transmission mounts have been changed. The car doesn't have air suspension.

Top mounts possibly, could even be broken spring, maybe right at the end, where it seats in the strut and difficult to see.

A quick follow up to this. Some time ago, I had the shock absorbers and top mounts changed for new, but aftermarket, it turns out. When I thought about it, the ride had been quite harsh since then. I sourced two used, but original complete front legs. It's perfect now.
