W212 interior ashtray cover faded any solutions or spares?

Hi does anyone know how to repair the faded wood on a w212 e350 estate 3.0v6 2010 year one section on the ashtray cover is faded and needs to be changed.

Any suggestions on a new part or some place to send the part for repair would be greatly appreciated

On the American forums this is big problem and MB had been replacing wood on fully dealer historied cars, have a google it might be free!

If no joy with MB, you need to have it sanded and lacquered again, as it's the lacquer that gives it the depth and sheen. Any good furniture restorer will be able to do this, or a specialist car trim restorer offering this service.

They will need to inspect it first, to see if it is thick enough to be sanded to a sufficient level. If not you'll have to try and source a used replacement or buy new.
