W212 interior update questions

Hey guys -

I'm looking at a 2012 E350, and was curious about the interior. I know around this time, they updated the interior - was this just in the 2014 model year, or did any of the updates get integrated into the 2013 model? I know they changed out the main screen to a better quality, which is my only complaint about the 2012. It dates the car massively unfortunately.

I've always been a BMW guy before this, so Merc is a whole new animal for me.

The interior changes came with the facelift, which also swapped from a 4 headlamp front end to the single light unit on each side. It's an “all or nothing” changeover, with no gradual introduction of the changes across model years.
