W212 NTG 4 to NTG 4.5 Retrofit

I have this capability but im afraid the agreement with Mercedes is that we can only do this where we install the parts or inspect they are genuine and installed as per Mercedes instructions. I think you will find the same with most Mercedes dealers.

I know that i m bringing back an old thread, if there s a problem i kindly ask one of the moderators to move it. I have a problem with my recently retrofitted ntg4 in my 2011 cls 250 (w218). All the coding is done, anti theft protection removed but unfortunately i have no image on display.. only a pale light visible in dark places.
Can anyone share the cable pinout or maybe a part number for the right cable?

I m using the same monitor that was used on the initial setup (audio 20 aps with cd changer), part number A212 900 50 00 and the same signal cable part number 212 440 64 32.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

You need to get the proper screen and cable. NTG4 comand does not work with the old Audio-20 screen.

Sorted out today . I had to change only the screen , i m using the same signal cable. If someone needs the necessary part numbers for retrofit pls ask.

Hi folks, can anyone tell me if the display from ntg5 ( A218 900 63 08 ) is compatible with ntg4.5 - 4.7 units ? As far as i ve seen both of them have blue LVDS connection. Thank you in advance.

A new day and of course a new problem... I have tested two units on my car, a ntg 4.5 and a 4.7, none of them are receiving anything from the gps antenna and i get the following error code : 94D8 The GPS antenna has an open circuit. I m using the same aftermarket antenna that works without any problems on the ntg 4 unit. Is the gps antenna feed somehow on ntg 4.5 -4.7 units?

Sorry, child hassling me to go out, and figured i'd rather post a solution then do it a few hours later and probably forget.

That is a retrofit antenna (genuine Mercedes parts) for NTG4.5 COMAND - it is the correct thing to use for NTG4.5. Mount it above the instrument cluster under the dash-board (i.e out of sight) - it has a sticky pad on the top to fix it to the underside of the dashboard above the cluster.

When retrofitting we always retrofit the fans system too, many don't bother or even claim it is not necessary but Mercedes did not spend money on installing extra cooling fans unless they were necessary to prevent premature death of COMAND units and thus warranty claims.

Mercedes don't give technical specs of their parts .... so we don't have them, apart from its the correct part to use for retrofits, and we did a Audio-20 CD Changer NTG4 -> NTG4.5 COMAND MY2012 E class estate today ..

The OP has not said if initial startup was performed or not. Without that Pin codes cannot be generated. I know a map pin code was obtained but it doesnt say if this was via Russian hacker or a legitimate method. Legitimate method would require initial startup to have been done.
