Hi all
So been having trouble with a p0101 code being thrown up on diagnostic report. This only happened recently after I had fitted a new turbo. I replaced all gaskets when changing turbo including the two red seals at turbo Intake and pcv line in to the intake. Refitted and tightened everything up and took for a test drive. When sitting at 30mph revs about 1300-1600 the car would start chugging, like it was about to stall. This happened three times before engine light came on and that's when I discovered a p0101 code. Took it to garage and they say it needed a new maf at £950 I'm a little skint atm So thought I'll take it home and have a look my self with my little engineering skills stripped down the maf tried cleaning the two sensors with contact cleaner (e350 cdi 2010 231bhp) cleared dtc and again took for test drive. Alarm came back up. So tried pulling maf sensors when the car was ticking over on my drive. The car responded with each one being pulled by dipping the revs. I then checked egr. Took out and was heavily crudded up So cleaned and re fitted. I double checked bolts around turbo and found the bottom bolt of the dpf to the turbo to be contaminated with s*** in the threads near the top of the bolt not allowing it to fully install but tricked me into this king it was tight ( 1-2 threads) so I took that out cleaned and retightened. Dtc cleared again and this time no alarm. Took car over 200mile and alarm has stayed off running much SMOOTHER.FIXED!!! hurrah Thought I'd post incase anyone else had this issue and may be worth checking these bits before throwing money at the dealers. Will keep posted incase something does pop up.
