Hello everyone.
My cherished Mercedes E class Coupe (E350) year 2010 has developed a fault with the panoramic roof.
It's always been serviced, cleaned and greased and never struggled to open or close.
Yesterday morning, the glass panel failed to open. There is a click sound, but this doesn't drive the motor. I've removed the fuse (for a couple of minutes) in the vain hope to reset the control unit, if there is such a thing.
The most bizarre part of it all, the panoramic shade will not close either. It's fully open (as it always is) but trying to close the shade, it only moves half-an-inch (very smoothly) and then comes to a stop that doesn't sound mechanically obstructive.
Sounds like a sensor that is not making contact, or making a contact too early. Possibly?
Has anyone encountered anything similar? Any suggestions much appreciated.
The one thing I've not tried is disconnecting the battery for a short period, but I've already removed the fuse for a 2 minutes and nothing changed.
Any input highly appreciated.
