No longer a Merc!
Lo,

I've got a W212 (Saloon) with split folding rear seats - and I want to swap the base out ideally for the one with integrated child seats (A2129204921).

Would this be a straight swap? Or are there any airbags hiding?

i know i am not answering the question sorry but i think two child seats with neck protection would be safer for the kids.

Hi,

We have a child seat, but at some point they outgrow them, and booster seats are required. Also, Merc do do neck protection to go with the child seats, but having the base is a good start! Integrated seat below (complies with ECE R44.04) - I can find the head restraints later.

If anyone is interested, I'll document this up. Looks like it will be an easy swap/job.

I've got a rear squab en route (from Germany) - I've got 201A Leather (Black Anthracite) but could only find a rear squab that was 101A Imitation Leather (Black Anthracite) - but it was in (seemingly) better nick that others on eBay.

I've also bought some M6x14.5M rivet nut bolts, which fit perfectly into the holes in the under seat metal, and just need a rivet gun. Also pending a headrest (just got outbid on one) - but even inc shipping and the rivet gun costs, this will be cheaper than a decent new chair, and integrated into the car :)
