Morning Everyone,
I am new to this forum and I hope someone can help.
I have a 2014 E300h for around 2 years with no issues 87000 miles and serviced by a local Merc specialist.
Recently I have developed an issue whereby when going from battery to the main engine it's as if the car bump-starts instead of starting with help of the starter.
After this happens the car runs fine but the battery light will stay yellow and not go green.
Also sometimes a malfunction notice comes up and it will only stop on electric.
If I start and go into S mode the starter starts the car runs fine all day no issues.
I am thinking as is my mechanic starter motor but to be honest I think it is something else as well.
Can anyone help?
My mechanic plugged it in and no faults showing at all?

Did your mechanic use STAR/Xentry ?
I doubt generic testers would read all possible MB specific codes, especially with regard to the hybrid side of things.

hi,
He is ex MB and has the STAR pad.
They are still convinced it is starter motor but I am not?
If I start car it goes green for battery drive, press S goes to sport mode and starts the car no problem.
If I drive on battery then it goes to the engine. no start its as if its bumping and then I get malfunction notices once the engine is running.
Also, I get cant select gear messages and contact the main dealer?????
Help anyone?
If I pay for the starter change £700+ then where do I stand if that doesn't fix it?????
