Hi folks. I've just bought a 2015 E250 & when I start the car then tpms warning light flashes, it then stays on & after a few mins of driving it shows a warning ' Tyre pressure system inoperative '. If it was a faulty tpms sensor then would it show that 1 or more sensor was not readable? I've reset the tmps through my dashboard a few times but not resolved the issue. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Does the dash show individual tyre pressures?

No it doesn't. At first it says tyre pressure system active & then after a few mins says it's inoperative
Did it used to then ?

I only got the car a few days ago & it's been that way . I've checked and the wheels do have tmps sensors
Normally one faulty sensor just wouldn't give a value on the dash . Id recommend you try getting a scan done to see if it can tell you anything. Mercedes tpms are self learning after a 10 minute drive , so don't think it's a coding issue. 2015 tpms batteries if still original will be about dead tbh.

Thanks mate

I believe there are two types of tpms on mercedes, the one with valves in each tyre and that normally shows the pressures and the one where it works off the abs sensor and shows a flat cos the wheel turns differently to a non flat. So maybe it's your abs sensor rather than a tpms sensor?

My 2011 E250 had the one that used the speed sensor but this definitely has the TPMS sensors. I've checked each of the valve stems to confirm.

You can also get tpms with rubber valve body . Looks are not everything 😁.a 2015 will certainly use direct tpms system, Id think your batteries in yours are knackered . A quick scan should tell you battery condition etc.

Got the wheels checked & 1 is not reading & another had very low battery so need to replace two. Do the Huf ones you linked need to be programmed?

I just got these for £67 . They come pre coded , you then drive for 10 minutes and they self teach. The huf will be the same.
