W213 (2017) iPhone OIS 10 stream problems

Hi there

maybe someone can comment on my issue?

phone is a 6SE with IOS 10.3.2 and pairs without a problem. Phone calls seem working as well, but streaming is my problem.
At time the car screen shows the stream as paused and at other times it shows it as playing but no sound comes out of the speakers.
what I tried:
remove Device from the Bluetooth list
remove vehicle from phone BT list
soft reset the phone (hold down menu button and ON/OFF button)

also if I get the stream to work the song information on the vehicle screen vanishes and comes back all the time.

looks like some kind of incompatibility. I had no problems with my S212.

any ideas of what to try next?

No one with this problem? What phones do you use on your W213 or S213? I also now tried a Nexus 5X on Android 8 and that one cannot stream at all to the car. Interestingly the information shows on screen as the music would be streamed but there is no sound. the BT volume on the phone is also set to its highest level.
