W213 battery wzrning

Need a bit of advice for newbie please
We have a 2019 E220 Estate. It is not used a lot. On Tuesday we used the car and were alarmed to see the battery warning light

Sorry cut short. Btge light was on permanently. Old school me thinks alter natir fail or fan belt broken. Car is still under warranty so called dealer. Booked onto service. I charged the battery for the trip and hey presto warning light gone. They charged with their charger and explanation is insufficient use.

Is this a common issue with these vehicles?

Yes. Though not just with 'these vehicles'... many car batteries went flat during the Covid lockdowns.
