I have a W213 e400d 69 plate and the boot actuator failed, so I replaced it with one from MB at a cost of £125. 1 year later this then also failed so I recently bought another one and 1 week later has also failed. When I press the close button on the boat lid I can hear the actuator click and the boot lowers but it doesn't fully latch. So as a work around I have removed the power cable from the actuator and manually rotated the spindle thing so the boot latch is in the closed position and then I manually close my boot by hand which my worry is will damaged the boot struts in the long term.
I am confused if there is another issue causing the actuator to fail and tried to search forums but with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated. I have taken a generic image online to show the part I am referring to.
