W213 E350d 2017 Fuel type

Hi all,

Just got rid of my C220 for an E350d, which is a V6 and was wondering if I needed to be using Diesel Ultimate for that engine? For the C220 is was just using the standard diesel.

I'm sure this has been debated and assume that the ultimate variety would be better, but I'm wondering if I HAVE to use it for that engine?

Yes this has been covered before.

You do not have to use ultimate diesel.

I have an E350 S212 2016 which I purchased new, I have always used premium diesel not for any perceived or actual performance increase but more for the cleanser/detergent or whatever is added.

You will get a myriad of differing views so use what suits you.

I'm not ignorant to the benifits of premium as it might have more detergents and dispersants and 2-EHN to get the Cetane number up , but Cetane number isn't disclosed on either fuel , so there's a con straight away going on there .

My argument is you can add more cheaply and simply your own potion's .

Injector cleaners , 2 EHN , Millers Eco Max , Dippybrain , Rhino Diesel , etc .
