W215 wipers clashed

Tough drive home tonight. M62 closed so 60 mile round trip to avoid the incident when on route my passenger wiper decided to stop for a second before being whacked by the driver wiper. The last 10 miles were steady with me too scared to touch the stalk in mild rain.

I got out the car and expected the wiper arm to be moveable but it seems fairly solid.

I'll be out there in the morning to see what I can do.

Any ideas???

Can't be much help, but would think something has come undone, broken or siezed.
