Hi guys,

for the past couple of days, I have been unable to switch my suspension modes (Comfort, Sport & Sport+) with the car stuck on Sport. No errors are appearing on the dash, however looking at the rear of the car it is raise higher than the front.

As you maybe aware, the W218 CLS63 only has Airmatic on the rear of the car. Once parked up it has also stopped 'Farting' (as my GF calls it) when the car randomly discharges Air from time to time.

I have attached it up to my STAR machine to scan for fault codes and it appears to be the C151E1C - Front Level Sensor has a malfunction. The voltage value is outside the permissible range

Has anyone on here had the same issue before? any ideas what has caused this? 4941mV is over double the standard reading?!?

I cleared the code, and of course it returned again.

Is this fairly DIY'able? - It looks like it lives just above the wheel next to the Upper Control Arm.

Was told by my indy after he changed mine both rear sensors that all factory fitted level sensors on E, CLS, S and GLs are with plastic linkages :wallbash: The MB replacements are with metal links.
I’m not sure if changing them is DIY’able as new ones must be coded on STAR.

Interesting! - I wonder if they are prone to snapping & hitting a pothole etc snapped it...

Cheers

Just prone to snapping due to the age. The plastic in time becomes very brittle and brakes easy, usually the eye which is very thin. Basically rubbish plastic design combined with money saving exercise by MB. As said, replacement which we have to pay for are with metal links.
I can think of other MB plastic rubbish which reguraly fail just to be replaced with metal part.
Here is my snapped linkage.

Thanks for the info/picture.

Ill take a look today to see the state of mine.
