"Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" to everyone.
OK. In the majority, if not all of the cars I have had since the 80 have had a heat shield/sound deadening felt under the bonnet. My 2013 Cls 250 has NONE. Should be one there.?

Is the car new to you.

Never known a car to not have one, sound dampening, heat protection are thier main purposes.

Is there any sign that there was ever one there or does it look very clean.

Ask your local dealer if they are available based on VIN. Usually they clip on and helped with glue (all available from dealer).

Could have been removed in the past and simply not replaced.
