W219 C Pillars - remove seats first?

Hello,

Can the interior CLS C Pillars be removed/installed without having to remove the rear seats and possibly the shelf?

Not according to WIS. You need to remove the seat backrest, then "Press edge guard (2) to side in area of C pillar paneling (1) Pull C-pillar paneling (1) toward front, slightly tilt in direction of center of vehicle and remove from C-pillar toward front"

why do you need access to C pillars?

Heated rear window isn't working, after checking/changing the fuse and the relay traced it back to the connection between the plug hidden behind the C pillar trim and the screen itself. There is power to the metal tab the connector plugs in to but no power going through the connector and cable that attaches to the screen heating elements.
