W219 CLS - How to access the Parking Brake Adjuster?

I've got a 2007 CLS. Is the parking brake adjuster accessible from inside the cabin? I've seen videos where other MB owners access it through a port hole in the rear centre seat. Would it be under the passenger centre console?

Doubtful. But you could look.

On the C Class you accessed the cable adjuster from under the rear seat by removing the seat base and then a metal cover. You still needed to adjust the parking brake shoes through the rear disc / drum assembly.

I imagine the latter is true of the E Class / CLS but unsure about the cable adjustment.

This was also true of the three W210 E class saloons that I have owned.

The w219 was based on the w211 chassis. And its under the exhaust somewhere towards the rear behind a plastic cover.

I'll have a look tomorrow, but after some searching it seems the only way to access it for the CLS is from underneath

Have you adjusted the shoes in the rear drums first?

This would be a strange retrograde step. Have you pulled out the rear seats?

Probably cheaper than cutting out a panel and then making it seal!
MB ,like most manufacturers will try to save a few pence here and there due to volume.

Could be...but would be vulnerable to dirt?

I've looked at from underneath using my phone as a telescope and I can see one of the two rear cables dislodged hence why my parking brake was not working anymore. Unfotunately the heatshield panels are doubled up and there is a cross brace in the way to make this an easy fix.

I'll try and see if I can remove the rear centre console and see if there is an access port underneath there.
