W219 Estate roof rail removal

Hi.

I have got a bit of rust coming from underneath the very end of the roof rail on the driver side.
Has anyone removed them before? I heard that the headlining needs to come off , However somebody in a USA forum wrote that you can just partially drop the headlining on that side only to access the bolts.
Any ideas?
