Hi all,
W220 067, S350, 2002, 100,000 miles, raft of errors and CEL!!!
I’ve just got back from a trip to Germany in this car with the following glitches (loads of rain) around the 5th hour of driving the check engine light comes on, but nothing else, scanned the codes and found P200B-1 insufficient cat… cleared all the codes but the CEL stayed on. The cruise control acceleration was also now much more aggressive.
On arrival I scanned the codes again but found nothing but a cat warning, however the Command then stopped working after scanning (Boots up navigates, but can’t select a CD… with a list of CD, CD changer options but it can’t select an option, screen frozen, and no radio audio output) but the CEL was still on.
The next morning The CEL is off but the Command is still not working. Cursory looked at the fuses, they seem to be okay.
On the return trip again the CEL again comes on around the 5th hour, didn’t stop to check things.
The next day (today), after a 2-3 mile drive and parking, first crank it won’t start, not even trying to fire. Second crank, cranks to the time out ~several seconds. Then an ESP warning on the display, but then it starts!!
On scanning the codes again warnings now on both cats, and a P2034-8 crank position sensor (P0335)
The car has been good without any starting problems returning an indicated 30mpg, and has just flagged up for an A service. Are these problems related? Water in the wiring loom perhaps or one of the computers, or other, any and all suggestions welcome (except the box of matches).
