COMAND 2.5 Takes 20 mins to remove. If your antenna is dead a new aftermarket one can be got for £15 . I will get the removal details and antenna install ASAP
PS
Have you had heavy rain which may have caused the sudden failure ? Have you no satellites at all ?
Hi Chas, I bought this car recently so i have to start from scratch on this fault, car has pentagon tints and front and rear phones so don't know if installers have disconnected or broken something, i need to get comand unit out to do tests and check connections but need to know how to remove without damaging anything, showing 0 sats where ever i am and tells me i am off roading when of course i'm not, thanks for the interest with my problem.
I have now managed to remove comand unit from car and can see 3 coaxial cables one of them is for radio the other 2 i do not know what there for 1 is held in by a yellow plastic locking retaining lever that you have to twist to pull plug out this is located at bottom of comand unit the other 1 is a thin lead that plugs into the centre of comand unit can anyone tell me what they are for is 1 of them the sat nav aerial ????, if anyone wants to know how to remove comand unit i will be able to help you, just let me know.
very good news to tell you all gps aerial was the cause of no sats, you need also after fitting aerial leave sat nav on for approx half a hour for it to be recognised, many thanks to Chas for his help, my problem is solved.
