W220 (51) 3.2 Cdi. FAILED MOT.!!

Hi all.
My S.Class has failed its MOT for the first time!!. Its only done 216,000.. Can anyone help on the item mentioned in the VT30 (Failure sheet).
#1. Offside (rear most) Front suspension has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint.
He explained that it was the one closest to the driver.
I have had a couple of advisories on previous MOT'S and have taken care of them myself, but never tackled a bottom ball joint on this model so any advice, help or how too;s would be extremely helpful as I'm in between jobs at the moment & i have the time to do the job myself.

If it is anything like the ball joints on W201 , W124 , W126 then the part is not expensive ( £15 ish ) but sometimes it can be an awkward job to separate the old one to replace it .

would it be best to use a splitter? With regard the replacement will it be easy to pop back in?

I think they need to be pressed in on the W220, not sure though.

Can anyone confirm that a W220 bottom ball joint needs to be pressed by Hydraulic press or just needs a little persuasion (club)!!
