Does anybody know if the fibre optic cable on the back of the standard audio 30 is there so a cd changer can be added? If so, I assume its routed to the boot - but where abouts in the boot does it come out?
If it exists and I can find the other end of the cable, is the cd changer easy enough to hook up? Any idea on model numbers of changers to look out for.
Thanks.

VIN would help, do you have other devices on the fibre ring?

The CDC would be installed to the trunk to the left. Take the panels off and have a look if the fibre and wiring harness would be there. If the car has some other devices on the ring, the fibre connector cannot be there just waiting, unless it has been connected to a loop with an extender.

I was hoping if I looked in the boot it would be blindingly obvious....was hoping to spot a connector the same as the one on the back of the radio ie the clear and red lenses etc, but not sure its gonna be that simple. I assume if it is in there it'll be opposite side of battery (or not)?
Thanks

Mark..... It might be an idea to edit the VIN out. Best not to leave it posted on the forum.
cheers.

Its significantly likely not to be there - they dont seem to build any pre-wiring for non ordered options in Europe.

If There it would be a connector like the one on the head unit (it may be straight or right angled) and a little 3 pin connector with 3 wires which is power/wakeup. Youd have to find the other end as-well to insert it into the fibre optic loop with joiners.

I didnt see the VIN so couldnt check if your car had other options on the fibre optic bus, but if you have phone / BOSE / vcs then the ring will be 'live' (i.e the fibre you found at the head unit is in use)
