My central locking has begun playing up, it may just be another electrical gremlin to contend with or they may be an easy solution someone has encountered before ... so here goes.
The keyfob operates the alarm as normal so it's transmitting ok, but it won't open the doors. I can set the alarm and it will lock everything but it won't then reopen when I return to the car and I have to use the spare key in the fob.
When I'm in the car the with the ingition on the button on the dashboard won't open the doors either.
Now if that was it then I would stand a good chance of discovering the problem, unfortunately this is an intermittant fault and for no reason the central locking will suddenly start working again.
Is the central locking operated by individual solenoids/motors in each door ? In which case I'm looking the the central unit that controls these. When I press the button in the car I can hear a clunking noise from the rear seat area, is this where the relay/control unit is located ?
Thanks in advance
Martin
