I have condensation on the rear window of my W220 S320cdi and also on my dads W202 C240. The condensation appears every morning and even if the car has not been used as I thought it may have been related to the heating being used.

I have cleared the channels of the S Class in the rear boot but can't find the drain holes. Can anyone give a rough idea where they are. When i wash the channels in the boot are the water builds up in the area below the spring.

Check the front passenger footwell too. If this is damp the drain holes at the base of the windscreen are blocked.

Drain holes would be at the lowest point in any particular section of the boot, you may have to remove the boot side trim to get access at the side parts of the boot.

Do you use the air con all the year round, summer and winter?

Carpets are completely dry and I always keep the drains in the front clean. On the C240 I am guessing it has a few rust patches that have gone through the body on the door edges so moisture is getting through there. The heater gets used now and then depending on the weather.

I will check the sunroof today. that could be the culprit as I did find some moisture on the rear view mirror yesterday.

Are the drain holes near the front of the sunroof or the rear?

I cleared all the vents and all the channels around the boot area and this morning I had the same problem where the rear window was wet inside.

Not sure what is causing this, going to examine the boot lining and see if there is any signs of water or tithe lining is fitted properly.

Quickest way to find a leak is to place news paper/paper towels… after you have dried out the area… anywhere you suspect is letting in water.
