Hello,

I have an S320 cdi (w220) 2001. The problem I have is the ABS light remains on whilst driving. This began after Removed the battery to power up another car I have in the garage. After replacing the battery in the s class it showed the ABS light and it remains on even after trying the reset of turning the steering lock to lock.

I scanned it and the only code showing on the MBII V2 is C1540 B24/15 rotary speed lateral acceleration sensor. Its not to Star level of diagnosis and being ABS it could get expensive if I begin to replace parts.

Any idea where I should start looking and also where this B24/15 sensor is located so I can at least locate it and check the connection is fine and no signs of corrosion on the connection.

I an not getting any diagnostic warning signs to say its an ABS sensor on a certain wheel. Is there a starting point like a fuse I should check and where would it be located.

Kind regards

I beleive that relates to a faulty wheel speed sensor but if you are getting an indy to fix the car, a quick Star test would confirm, and which one.
On the rear, I believe there is a reluctor ring on the inside hub that can corrode and fail to pick up the wheel speed too.

The front wheel speed sensors are plugged into the inside hub. Don't confuse it with the brake wear indicator connection.

Turning the steering wheel side to side eliminates BAS faults, not ABS:(

I have read a few forums where people have removed the speed sensors and given them a clean and resolved the issues so Ill give that a go before I get it put on star.

After using my iCarsoft MBii V2.0 scanner it shows an N64 Yaw Rate sensor, still no warning to saw a speed sensor is at fault. Had a look at the front ABS sensors, removed and cleaned but need to check the rear.
