W220 S55

Id rather have the E tbh.....never a fan of the very heavy looking 220........to my eyes, visually, the 221 was a massive improvement over it.

Sadly there is a burgundy 220 not far from me that's not moved in years. Sits on its bump stops rotting.....and recently a rock got thrown through the rear screen. Sad to see it everyday and I'm not sure why its not been taken to the scrappy to put the poor old thing out of its misery!! Will try and snap a pic later.

I had an S55 for about four years. What a stormer of a car. Mine was up there in miles by the time I sold it and it was starting to give me ABC issues. When I got the W211 E320CDI, I sold it. The S55 was a hell of a fast car but for everyday driving, the CDI is plenty quick. I still have an SL55 with that motor. It's a brilliant engine.

Yep, agreed. We’ve had our E55 for nearly 13 years now, which is crazy to think of, time does fly.

We were offered a S55 back then and my dad ended up choosing the 211 instead, the 211 shape has aged like fine wine in my opinion, and looks greater and greater by the day, especially from the rear.

Not saying the 220 is bad, I just think; like yourself, the 211 is the better looking car.

Please do send some pics of the burgundy 220! What engine is it?

Both are Japanese imports. The chap who’s selling them is a member of the official MB club and documented a lot of his ownership with photos, stories, etc.

Then again, if you fancied/dared to risk a V12, with 30K fewer miles covered, and five years younger, you could have this for £4k less.

I'm almost tempted myself, and I have no conceivable use for it...

This car has been through a few auctions and sellers. Maybe something is broken 🤔
But a cracking price for a S65

Yeah....technically Nyetimber but there seems to be no clear boundaries between Pagham, Nyetimber and Rose green.

Oh man... That is a shame. Lovely colour too, that'll look well in good condition.
