W220 SatNav APS Version Part Numbers

I have a S320 2004 with what I believe is the NTG1 (nav drive in boot).
My original disc failed which had the part number A211 827 21 65 v9.0.

I borrowed a friends v10 DVD which had part number A211 827 21 65 v10.0 which worked.

I bought a DVD which said it was for S-Klasse >09/03 <09/05 and didn't notice the part number was slightly different. It is A211 827 24 65! So 24 instead of 21 so I thought it would work but says wrong version!

I was wondering if anyone can explain the difference between the 24 and 21 version so I can understand why it is not working in my Nav please especially when it says S class and mine is within the year period and APS?

It should work, I suspect is an issue with the laser in the nav drive (possibly explaining why your old disk "failed")

New nav drive from MB is £3k. From Here £1k: https://www.commandonline.co.uk/mb_ntg1_navigation_processor.html

Comand.co.uk will have some cheaper used / refurb in stock if you are near them in Lightwater (M3J3) they can work out what is wrong for you

Thanks for your reply. I will try the v10 again in that case.

I know the v9 took a few reboots to settle down as map wasn't being displayed at first.

I do have 2 other drives I can try to.

So the 21 and 27 make no odds then?

The number is just a part number. That link shows you which part is the newer one - the numbers don't bear much/any resemblance to the version of the map disk

Ah yes. Easier to see on pc than mobile. Thank you. Is that list complete as it shows:

Version 9.0 (2008/2009) B6 782 3887 A211 827 21 64

Wher my DVD shows:

Version 9.0 (2008/2009) B6 782 3887 A211 827 21 65

Just to get clear in my mind. Like to know about these things. Thanks again.

Your eyes are definitely good. Your part number is correct, I have updated that page (having checked the Mercedes database)
