Hi all
Can anyone tell me how I can tell if my 99 W220 has been pre wired for a TV Tuner.

If no tuner has been fitted, it will not be pre wired, they never are, if you are fitting one, do go digi as the analogue is soon finished, MB retro fits contain all of the wires but are expensive

Thanks, as a newbie to all of this where is the best place to start on fitting a digi TV.

PS where abouts in Dorset are you? I'm just north of Fordingbridge on the Hants Dorset border.

TV Pre-wire was an option and few cars do have it (depends upon other options). Believe it's code 860 where 861 is TV tuner (these codes are off the top of my head so I could be wrong!).

Check your VIN using the Russian VIN decoder (link in favourites), this will tell you weather yours is pre-wired. Our W220 isn't ;-(

As television suggests consider a Digi tuner.

Code 861 which includes 863 (rear centre screen) was a common prewire on 2000+ models. You may have it if your datacard / build was the correct date.

All W220 were prewired to the end of production after a certain date. The last of the series didnt need wires because the TV ran with optical cables in the 2004-2006 models.

If you have a prewire then it will also be included the rear seat entertainment prewire. Then if so you only need a tuner and a bracket.

Depends on the year model.
