I am having a CKO AV interface and Rearview camera fitted to my w221 06 (with telematics update already done, birdseye etc) fitting by Audio island.

My dilema is.
(i'am pretty sure (90%) i have to have my dealership enable rearview on star/das/scn.)
http://www.c-ko.co.uk/docs/WEB-INT.pdf

CKO av interface, pdf states w221 neeed to be coded,

Camera = S-class
TRU-BZ-0200

CKO International Ltd - Cameras

My choices are.

A: Get it done before retrofit.
b: Get it done after retrofit.

My question is.
Do w221 need to be coded for rearview, and if so, can it be done prior to retrofit.(so we know the retrofit has been sucessfull) or does it have to be done after retrofit.
Do i Need to know if Camera is PAL OR NTSC?

or am i totally Barking up the wrong tree.
Any help Greatly Appriciated.(Sorry if Question Lacks Technical Expertise)

Can be done before retrofit, then you will get a blank screen when you select reverse. There are also options to turn on lines. Im about 80% sure it needs to be NTSC - but I only use the genuine camera ..

How much is the kit costing you ?

The 2006 W221 assumes a Rear View Camera control unit that also takes care of the dynamic lines on the screen. I know it is possible to version code the static lines from the head unit after the telematics update (because these often appear after the telematics update even if they should not) but is that enough?

What I'm after is that the options changed when the camera module was discontinued, the parallel parking option was moved to the instrument cluster display.

Perhaps the idea is to gain the "reverse parking" option only with fixed guidance lines and leave the cluster unmodified.
