W221 Activating Phone

Just bought a pre-facelift 2009 S320 CDI, having trouble getting the Telephone to work in Comand.

I have an iPhone 5S, and the car has the Bluetooth thing in the centre armrest. I can pair the phone such that the system says its authorised and available, but then going into Telephone and selecting the option to turn Telephone on the system has a good think and then fails to activate the Telephone function.

Any suggestions anyone?

Which bluetooth thing do you have at the centre armrest, can you read the part number from it?

Did you pair your phone with the BT adapter or the head unit?

Thanks, I believe it's the HFP adaptor. Can't look for the part number just now as the wife has the car.

In answer to your second question, not sure, I have just followed the Bluetooth route through from the Telephone menu in Comand.
