W221 COMAND radio & mirror settings

Ok, I've had my W221 (S63 2012) for a month, don't have a manual other than a download from the US and have two issues that are beyond me, although I have read the manual and followed all instructions I can find.

Firstly, there does not appear to be any way that the radio volume will stay at my preferred setting; as soon as the car is switched off and restarted, volume goes up to its original (high) level.

Second problem is that the reverse parking mirror will not set so that I can see the kerb. I have tried every permutation of instruction that I can find.

Are these problems that might be solved by a COMAND update or am I missing something obvious?

The mirror thing can be very tricky to get right. Persevere.

COMAND volume, have you switched it off before switching the car off?

Perseverance must be second only to frustration! And I'm not sure whether I have tried turning off COMAND before vehicle, so I'll give that a go. Thanks.

It may be that your unit is not connected correctly and is missing a constant live feed to maintain the settings.. you may have to check the wiring to see if there's a second "live" missing
