I have a slight oil leak coming from the left rear of my engine. It appears to be from the area of the large round plastic valve (?) with two tubes connected to it. The following image of a Chrysler OM642 engine shows the part I mean: http://www.300cforums.com/forums/at...rd/36476d1287520860-drake-tuning-box-a123.jpg

It's the large round contraption below the red arrow with the the three bolts.

Can someone identify this? Is a leak here likely to be because this part is faulty or symptomatic of a problem elsewhere?

Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old thread, but I think part you inquiring about is the PCV
(positive crankcase valve). It send the blow-by gases from the crankcase back into the intake. When the diaphragm inside fails it tends to leak oil.
