W221 s class no sound or radio

HI, I have a w221 s class 2007 and I recently had the rear battery replaced as it wasn't holding charge. Ever since then the comand system has been playing up. One day I'd get in and it would be working fine, the next I would have no sound at all, the nav would work but no sound, no radio stations were being shown and the cd wouldn't play. However it hasn't worked at all for the past week. I'm beginning to think its the amplifier, I'm getting it removed and cleaned some time this week or it could be the battery control module. Anyone able to shed some light on the situation as I know some of you have experienced the same or similar situations.

Failing AGW. As its a 2007 S320CDI, if its been used as a taxi (i.e sat around waiting for passengers with engine on), its almost certainly that as diesel fumes get drawn in through one of the vents and deposit carbon all over the inside of the amp. The AGW is the radio tuner, amp, and fibre controller.

I have a very similar problem with my W220 but the sound goes just after I engage drive and move away then comes back when I switch the engine off !!. Just trying to get some free time to get it down to Comand Online .

Hi, thanks for the replies. I'm taking it down to an independent specialist next week to get the amp removed and I'm going to try cleaning it and drying it out. Hopefully this should get it to work.
