W221 S500 low miles, designo interior

Nice low mileage example but not sure I could live with that colour combo

Phew, that was close. If I hadn't picked up a new car a couple of days back, I would have been out there to have a look at this first thing Monday, earning me a proper kicking from the TheSteeringCommittee.

I know James Gill, the dealer - he specialises in one owner cars in fabulous condition. This will be a peach - "if" you like an 18 year old V8

You’d need a few quid off for some sunglasses I reckon.

Or maybe a trip to specsavers on the way to see it, and save the £15k? :p

Definitely not. Nothing wrong with bodywork that isn't black/grey/ silver,

and a proper Designo nappa leather interior: worth every penny.

The extras on the car would have cost more than the asking price today.

Full MB history: what's not to like?

Love the spec, mileage, condition, history :thumb:

Just not a fan of the colour combination - the exterior colour is awful and the wood trim isn’t very nice (in my opinion, although I doubt I’m alone!)

Unique for a reason - not many people buy cars in beigey-gold sort of hues with orangey interiors.

And for a designo spec car, why’s it got such a plain looking steering wheel?

Sorry - not my cup of tea. But excellent value for money relative to the new cost of course (aren’t these large S-class type vehicles always a bargain used?)

I'd be very happy to part with that money for the interior, mileage, history, spec etc.

But metallic hearing aid beige?
Sorry, jogging past trying not to gag.

Maybe knock £5k off so I can get a cracking full body wrap done to hide it?

How often do you see a one owner, full MB history S500 on 20k miles up for £15k? Even a full Embassy / Carriage Trade black one.

But it’s not a question of whether it appeals to everyone, my point was that it’s a well maintained low mileage high spec car.

My wife will explain that it’s not for me because of the length of the car . She has the same problem with the Contis and the new Jaaag.

so I’m stuck with a boring, low mileage non-black or silver short car that won’t depreciate at all. But I’ll cope

Its all lovely.....but no matter how good it is.....personally I could not live with that interior....MB can call it what they want.....but that's ORANGE!!

Pah - poverty spec. No panoramic roof, no tray tables, no air-conditioned massage seats, no fridge, no night vision assist. Takes forever to get to 60mph.

I suppose that's what you get when you skimp on the number of cylinders. 🤣🤣

???? The op car is 8 cylinders..

That's a much nicer shade.....almost red.

It's just the photo, it is proper orange in real life but you can get away with a bit of madness in a C43

Agreed - although the wood still looks awful and the grey headlining doesn’t seem to go with the rest of the theme.

Agreed. That random pic was from a wagon, I'm sure the saloon could be specced with dark headlining and would look so much better.

I nearly bought a AMG kitted "complete" Designo Orange W208 years ago for £1500, I'm pretty sure the headliner was black on that which may be rose tinting my memory of the interior. But the orange marble wood was hideous.
