A lovely engine the 5.5 V8 and the first car I've had with flappy paddles returned an impressive 28mpg on the run back from a lovely fella in north London to the Midlands who'd owned and cared for it for 6 years bought used from Mercedes and always serviced by them and replaced with a newer version.
I've had the bumpers painted due to scuffs and one rear quarter, the AMGs although presentable benefitted from a refurb a thorough de-tar,clay bar and polish and I'm happy with the result, ordered a copy boot spoiler from China arrived in a week and came pre painted and was a perfect fit and colour match.
Mechanically it needed very little a new duo valve as was stuck on hot to rear I've just changed the pulsation damper on the ABC duo pump gave it a fluid change with new aux belt and replaced the engine and gearbox mounts, now back to its silky smoothness.Engine oil and filter and new light lenses in the mirror covers.
I find it the most relaxing car to drive I've ever owned it being particularly quiet and insulating the occupants from outside noise.massaging seats are nice the 3 TVs keep the little one amused oh did I mention it's got a fridge in the back which is easily removed to free up even more boot space.
A few of you may remember I bought a CL600 Bi-turbo almost 4 years ago now and still have it she's been a great car with an engine I don't think I will ever better but needed a 4 door with more boot space as daughter and grandkiddie moved back in with us hence the S class.
I will be advertising the CL600 on here in the next few days to gauge interest before dropping it on auto trader.
Meanwhile here's a few pics of the new ride.

That looks in great condition. Nice find.:thumb:

Yes I'm very happy with it you know your buying the right car when the owner clicks his electric gates open and invites you to tea by the tennis court.

Very nice car and seeing we share the same surname we must be related, meaning I’m going to come round ya house and drive it when I want.:cool:

Thanks Borys booked her in next week for a gearbox fluid and filter change no issues just something I always do when buying an automatic.
